David Sinclair Longevity Supplements

NAD Booster, Resveratrol, Betaine, Quercetin, Spermidine, Calcium Alphaketoglutarate and more are part of David Sinclair's Healthy Aging efforts.

When the book 'Lifespan - Why we age and why we don't have to' was published in September 2019, Dr. David Sinclair was well-known, but not yet the shooting star of the longevity scene that he is today. The book catapulted the Australian biologist and professor of genetics at Harvard Medical School to the top of bestseller lists in dozens of countries.

For Sinclair, ageing is a disease that can be cured.

The Australian scientist doesn't just pay lip service to his research, he actually lives it. Not just since Lifespan, but for several decades longer. In the book and in numerous interviews, he readily reveals the steps he himself takes to stay healthy for a long time.

This is Prof. Sinclair's healthy aging recipe:

During the course of the day, he swallows his "longevity prescription". This includes the following molecules:

  • 1000 mg NAD Booster dissolved in water (in the morning): NAD boosters attach to the sirtuins .
  • 1000 mg resveratrol powder mixed with two to three spoonfuls of yoghurt (in the morning): Resveratrol is found particularly in selected red wine varieties and is a well-known polyphenol with antioxidant properties. Like NAD Booster, the supplement targets the sirtuins, a family of longevity genes.

  • 1000 mg Betaine (TMG) powder dissolved in water: With its numerous methyl groups, TMG is intended to counteract the increased excretion of these by taking NAD boosters.

Not too long ago, Sinclair added three more molecules to its supplement portfolio:

  • Spermidine capsules: Spermidine is found in concentrated form in soy products and wheat germ. It is said to stimulate autophagy and, according to Sinclair, also has stabilizing properties for the epigenome.

  • Quercetin powder: The molecule is found in numerous plants and, like resveratrol, belongs to the group of polyphenols. It is currently the subject of intensive research in the field of longevity.

  • Fisetin capsules: Fisetin is also a polyphenol that has been shown to have comparable effects to resveratrol in animal models.

The vision of a healthy future

Lifespan: Prof. David Sinclair's well-founded and sometimes cheerful account of the knowledge of ageing processes and their causes has made him one of the world's most renowned researchers on ageing with a reach beyond the boundaries of the scientific community.

He and his co-author Matthew D. LaPlante have achieved something that few have managed to do before. They have struck a nerve and gotten everyday people excited about the science of aging. They have managed to get people thinking about what they can personally do for their health and longevity.

Longevity is more than just supplements

The researcher, who lives in the USA, skips lunch. David Sinclair eats his only meal of the day in the evening. He hopes that the intermittent fasting will activate autophagy - a self-cleaning process of our cells. According to him, taking the supplements in the morning does not interrupt the fast.

The special dietary routine is then supplemented by physical exercise. His basic recommendation is 10 minutes out of breath three times a week. In addition, he routinely uses dumbbells and weights - even in his office. There is also a small stepper hidden under his desk so that his legs don't get bored while he is sitting.

Sinclair is convinced that this approach will slow down his own ageing. What is this conviction based on? On numerous scientific findings that he and thousands of other researchers around the world have to thank for.

Dr. David Andrew Sinclair - Anti Aging Recommendations (Nutrition, Fasting, Supplements) Summary

  • Intermittent fasting and calorie reduction: This method refers to the periodic alternation between eating and fasting times. According to Sinclair, he lives according to the OMAD protocol. OMAD stands for One-Meal-A-Day. Taking food supplements in the morning does not interfere with fasting.
  • Active lifestyle: Regular physical activity and exercise are an important addition to David Sinclair's diet and supplement routine. For example, there is a small stepper hidden under his desk in his office, which he uses regularly.
  • Healthy diet: A balanced diet with plenty of fruit, vegetables, wholegrain products, healthy fats and lean protein is essential to provide the body with the necessary nutrients despite periods of fasting and to support the ageing process.
  • Nahrungsergänzungsmittel: Dr. David Sinclair takes numerous nutritional supplements such as resveratrol, quercetin, spermidine, NAD booster and calcium alphaketoglutarate on a daily basis. These substances are intended to support the metabolism and cell function.

Healthy ageing - maintaining health

Numerous factors influence the way we age. Some of these, such as our genetic make-up, are beyond our control. Others - such as physical exercise, a healthy diet, regular visits to the doctor and a general concern for our health - can be influenced. In research and science, a wide variety of approaches are pursued when it comes to the problem of the clock of life:

  • The anti-ageing movement wants to stop ageing.
  • The reverse ageing movement wants to reverse ageing.
  • The Healthy Aging movement primarily wants to grow old healthily.

While the Anti-Aging and Reverse Aging movements are primarily concerned with prolonging life and minimizing the effects of ageing, supporters of the Healthy Aging movement primarily want to extend the health span. If this leads to an increase in lifespan, then this is a welcome side effect.

What is a supplement?

Supplements, often colloquially referred to as dietary supplements, are products that serve to supplement the metabolism of organisms. Supplements typically contain molecules in concentrated form and are therefore offered in pressed, capsule or powder form. Supplements are legally distinct from medicinal products.

What is NMN?

Nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) is the immediate precursor of NAD+ and is involved in the biosynthesis of NAD+ in every living organism. NAD+, whose level in organisms decreases over the years, is involved in numerous cell processes. For years, NMN has been the subject of increasingly intensive research worldwide.

According to German and European law, NMN (nicotinamide mononucleotide) is a chemical that is not suitable for human consumption.
