Everything at a glance

Astaxanthin is produced from the so-called Blood rain algae (Haematococcus pluvialis) and presented in the form of a Oleoresin extract further processed. It is a fat-soluble pigment and structurally related to other known carotenoids such as beta-carotene and lutein. Due to its chemical structure, astaxanthin in plants has special antioxidant properties (6000 times stronger than vitamin C). It is used in various areas, including aquaculture, the food industry and as an ingredient in food supplements.

Astaxanthin is a naturally occurring pigment that gives certain organisms, such as algae and marine animals, their characteristic red color. It fulfills various functions within these organisms. On the one hand, it serves as protection against environmental influences, such as the effects of sunlight. On the other hand, it is largely responsible for pigmentation, which can be observed in flamingos, salmon and shrimp, for example. In addition, astaxanthin can also be involved in a number of biochemical processes within the organism and thus play a role in general biology.

We recommend a daily intake of 8 mg astaxanthin from oleoresin. Simply add one capsule of astaxanthin together with a meal take.

The recommended daily intake should not be exceeded. Food supplements are no substitute for a balanced and varied diet and a healthy lifestyle. Please keep out of the reach of children. The product should be stored in a cool and dry place. Also keep out of direct sunlight and away from heat.
